It's one of the stations for which isometric or axonometric diagrams
were posted, a long time ago.

It can be confusing.

I think there's one at the entrance to the uptown NR.

Oh, well, late night on a weekend, there might have been only one train
stopping there at all.

On the platform for the uptown 4,5,6. You would really be lost
looking for the N or R there.

A, 2 and 4 stop there all the time, except a lot of weekends recently
the 4 hasn't been.

Yeah, one of those obscure (non-West Side) lines ... Doesn't a piece of
the Nassau Loop stop there too?

Er, no, last month I was going to a conference at John Jay College and
wanted to take the A train from PATH WTC to Columbus Circle. Bway-Nassau
is a much shorter walk than Chambers St. underground, plus I'd be at the
front of the train, which is where the correct exit is. Turned out there
was no northbound A/C service all weekend between Jay St.(?) and West
4th.

(If there had been signs at the PATH station, I could have simply taken
the E to W4; as it was, since I was already in the system, I had to walk
the whole length of the station to William St. to the 2/3, having
resigned myself to changing from express to local -- and what should
come along but a train signed as a 1, which came into Chambers St. (IRT)
on the express track (severely confusing the people who were waiting for
the uptown local -- and no announcement was made until the doors were
about to close) but then switched over and made all local stops to 59th
(but 2/3s were passing on the express track anyway).)

J, all times except weekends
M, rush hours

Except lately when the 4 hasn't been running on weekends the J has
been going to either Atlantic or Pacific.

Yeah, they also do that sometimes.

At least most subway stations now have the weekend summaries. There
is probably too much bureaucracy in the way of posting them in PATH.
They don't put PATH notices in the subway, either. I once had to use
an extra fare when the PATH station I wanted to use was closed for the
weekend.

I think that only covers part of the station (it doesn't go all the way to
the 2/3, and I'm not sure it includes the J/M/Z platforms either). There
was another one posted somewhere on the eastern end of the station to
complement that map, but I'm not sure if it's still there after they redid
the mezzanine area around the intersection of Fulton and William Streets as
part of the A/C rehab.
