Any avenue a bus runs on is one-way, and a bus stop (obviously) is
always on the right side of the street. So if your bus is northbound,
the stop is on the east side of the street.

Bus stops are staggered so that many buses don't try to stop on the same
spot at the same time. The bus stops are marked with tall poles with the
route signs on them, and the blocks are short enough that there will be
no problem meeting your bus wherever along the curb it stops.

thank you for your help...
i ride buses alot, but 99% of the time i take either the X1 or S79... i
am a big fan of both lines, but i had some fears of travelling on the
east side... i have never been east of madison ave in my entire 25 years
of living... ready to try something new.

All you've missed was a bunch of rich people.

Long before you were born, there were Germans in Yorkville.

I wonder how many people in NY still might not realize where Yorkville
is? :) The only times I see it now are on NY-1 newscasts and the MTA
signage.
