2a. A train from Jay to W4, walk to PATH on 9th
2b. 33rd - Jsq train from 9th to JSQ.
2c. free transfer from 33rd-JSQ to EXPL-Newark (Penn)
3. NJT to Trenton...

Might save a couple bucks each way, though takes a bit longer.
HBLR just wouldn't make much sense here, since you'd have to
get off of PATH at Newport, HBLR over to EXPL, then take
PATH direct to Newark:

2a. A train from Jay to W4, walk to PATH on 9th
2b. 33rd - Jsq train from 9th to Newport.
2c. HBLR from Newport to EXPL
2d. EXPL to Newark on PATH
3. NJT to Trenton...

Maybe somebody knows how to tie in PATCO on the
Philly / Camden side? :)

And we're turning this subthread into a grand tour of NE corridor transit
carriers. :)
