| | Guest | CVS Stores: Unscrupulous Carnappers That's the law. It is that way to deter people from parking in lots then
going all over the place to shop if CVS pays the taxes on their parking lot
they get to decide whether it is to be used for customers only. You actually
got off pretty cheaply the actually could've charged you anything they
wanted to bring it back to you. If you had gone to the towing company lot to
retrieve it, it would have only been $100 plus tax. In saying you had to pay
the tax to get a receipt, he was actually trying to give you a break. You
got off easy count your blessings and next time you park somewhere check the
signs well. This happens all over the city.

The municipal lot in White Plains across the street from the Westchester
Mall (which was free on Sundays) has been replaced by a Stop & Shop
parking structure. I have parked there, bought something at Stop & Shop,
then gone across the street to the mall. Is that acceptable? The last
time I was there, a towtruck was removing a vehicle, but I could not
find any signs about "S&S Customers Only."

| | Guest | CVS Stores: Unscrupulous CARNAPPERS! the signs should be visible if not you got a gripe but I wouldn't risk
walking home on it, and no by crossing the street they can tow you legally

Phil, there's a hole in your interpretation of what you read. Or
perhaps I left out some relevant details, for various reasons. I
am not letting the matter rest, but am pursuing compensation
from CVS. Should I not get it, I assure you that the consequent
cost to them will far exceed what was extorted from me!

So, if someone breaks into your home you think that your first action should
be to tap them on the shoulder and politely ask them to leave?

It's THIER property. You left your car on their property. They were doing
you a favour by letting you park there while in their store. They clearly
posted a sign that you are NOT welcome to park there when shopping
elsewhere. It's YOUR fault. Be glad you got your car back and didn't have to
walk home.

Try looking this word up yourself. If you can't read a sign in a parking
lot, you probably shouldn't even have a drivers licence.

What justice? You tresspassed and got your car towed. THAT is justice.
What would you do if your neighbour started parking his car on your lawn?
I'm pretty sure you'd have it towed ASAP.
