 Student metrocard programming
A student in a private NYC school received a letter that their student
metrocard will not work on days their school is open and NYC public
schools are closed. In prior years student metrocards worked on school
holidays and vacations, including the winter (Feb. break). Students
were encouraged to go to museums and libraries, etc. The last time I
looked, there is no mention on the back of the metrocard that it is to
be used for going to/from school only. It just states to be used by
school students between certain hours. Has the software be written to
turn off student cards on certain days besides weekends?
