| | Guest | Power locks My wife drives a 99 Montero Sport. Now the power locks are only working
part of the time. All the fuses that I can find test okay. They basically
only lock regularly with alarm remote, don't unlock with alarm remote at
all, and the door buttons only work about 10% of the time.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

| | Guest | Power locks Hi,
I recently bought a used 2001 Galant and was told the power locks
don't work. I've actually discovered that they only kind of work.
Here are the scenarios I've worked through:
1) Ignition off, press lock or unlock: no response from the power
locks (thus thinking it wasn't working).
2) Ignition on and all doors closed, press lock or unlock: power locks
work fine. All doors lock and unlock as expected.
2) Ignition on and any one or more doors open, press unlock: all doors
unlock.
3) Ignition on and any one or more doors open, press lock: all doors
lock and rapidly unlock.
Anyone have a suggestion or two? I've ordered the Haynes manual, but
it'll be a week or so, and I'm hoping this is a pretty simple fix.
Thanks! | |

Seems that the Computer and/or the Receiver for the locking system has
no permanent 12V supply. Shure nobody fooled around with the electric?
Saludos Wolfgang

| | Guest | Power locks I wouldn't be surprised if they had, the previous owner had installed
some of the standard "look! I have a cool car! girls will like me!"
stuff (which my boyfriend and I will be ripping out once we get the
Haynes book). | |

Why did you waste your money on a Haynes manual? Get a factory manual
and you will have accurate and complete information.
