Default Liverpool Street ticket machines

Does anyone know when the automatic ticket machines at Liverpool street
will start reliably accepting credit cards. Usually they just say
Authorization failed. Nothing wrong with the credit card and contacting
the company they say no authorisation request was made to them.

The machine near Boots in the shopping part of the station hasn't been
workign properly for weeks now.

Also who designed those machines with the card reader so very well
obscured! I understand it's low down to help wheelchair users, but why
set so far back into the backing so that you have to bend down to see
what's on the screen.

The Stanstead ones near platform 5 seem more reliable. However after
buying tickets this week the latest glicth is that the gates wouldn't
accept the ticket that was just issued.

I Can't buy my gold card from my local station - Tribute always declines the
card even though its good. It won't even attempt the transaction as the bank
see nothing on the account.

There is a known problem with HSBC debit cards, but I don't bank with them
so that can't explain my problems, and the card is good for all manor of
other tickets, just not a gold card. (there is no transaction limit on the
card etc.)
