Officially, I believe they're saying that the only two stations which
can't be upgraded to take 8 cars on the current stretch of the ELL is
Rotherhithe and Wapping. This is partly because the stations have been
listed as historical monuments.

Shame really - cos the two areas along the current ELL which would
really benefit from the extension (in terms of being most rundown and
not having a good public transport system already through them) is
Rotherhithe and Wapping!

Rotherhithe and Wapping most run down on the ELL???
When were you last there?

They are full of yuppy flats now!The ELL runs from Whitechapel via
Shadwell to New Cross - Wapping and Rotherhithe are the best kept
areas on the line! :-)

Sorry for being picky. I hope the stations don't close either, but
since neither area is more than 10mins walk from another tube
(Shadwell/ Bermondsey), I doubt they have a chance. :-(
