Not long ago a bunch of casino employees had brought
legal action against the casino for feeding them left
over buffet food (free employee lunches) saying the
casino buffet food contributed to their diabetic problems.

My Hemoglobin A1c came back 5.0 so while I don't worry about diabetes per
se, it is obvious that I have an ongoing problem with my weight and I have
to struggle to maintain even my current studly physique. <vbg>
When I travel, I try to stick with protein as much as possible and avoid
anything white (flour, pasta, rice, sugar) with some success. I'll have a
mixed drink once in a while but I prefer diet cola so that isn't a problem.
Many of my trips are on cruises where food is one of the main attractions.
I love to eat. I also love to cook and so does Becca and we are
both very good at it so it is a constant battle... sometimes I win...
sometimes I don't.

In reply to your question "do you increase your insulin dosage to offset
too much eating and drinking" in my brothers case most definately yes ! He
carries on life as normal both at home and on holiday and increases his
insulin dosage as required.
I believe this is normal practice in Germany.

At home I don't have Bloody Mary's for breakfast, but that's how I
start my day in Vegas. That's what vacations are for!

With all proper respect, Don, it would be easier to remove that "hate"
if you first removed your head from your ***.
