You and Big Mikey will both own houses in
Vegas before there is a monorail from
LA to Vegas.
On second thought, there is more chance
of the monorail.

for short trips of 2 or 3 nights, I usually only bring a duffel bag with
a shoulder strap. I would not mind schlepping a block or so.

I took the Blue Line to my Loop hotel, after flying into O'Hare. The
nice thing about it is that you aren't stuck in traffic like you would
be in a cab.

I can only speak for me. I have to travel with two bags. Period. I
travel with a medium size rolling suitcase for my clothes which I put
into checked luggage. I also carry a small backpack with my laptop, and
camera gear, and my prescription drugs, which I carry with me on board.
That's as minimal as I want to get. I am going to Las Vegas in one month
and I see no reason to pack differently because USAirways will charge me
a few extra dollars for my checked bag.
