Default Frys Electronics, your views...

What are your feelings on rebates sent for and not redieved. How mny
people have had a problem with them on this issue??
Speaking of rebates in general, I try to avoid them. If I can't avoid
them, I send them in and put an alert a couple of weeks out on my
calendar to follow up on them. Usually you can run down a telephone
number for the rebate people. I have had to contact them several times
on a rebate for a monitor once. I stayed on them and eventually got my
rebate, but I'm not sure if it was worth the effort. Like I say, I try
to avoid them if at all possible.

Default Frys Electronics, your views...

I need to tap iinto your collective wisdom please. I buy a lot of
electronics from Frys Electronics in Vegas. Quite often I run into
problems when I correctly and accurately send in my rebates. i
receive back an email telling me that I did not send something in,
when, I in fact did so as per directions.

Here is my quandry. When I buy a computer, components, fax machine
(reconditioned as they / it might be) and i am expecting several
hundred dollars in rebates back and they do not send it......what
should I do. My initial feeling is to sue them in small claims courts
with my copies of receipts, UPC codes, etc... Then publicize the hell
out of the court ruling.

What are your feelings on rebates sent for and not recieved. How many
people have had a problem with them on this issue?? I seem to have it all the time and have about had a belly full.
Don:

So far I am two for two but it did take about 7 weeks for the rebate.

MAKE COPIES AND SAVE EVERYTHING.

Call me when you get to LV if you can. 818-867-4863.

I usually buy all my electronics stuff on-line (Amazon, J&R, etc) so
the prices are usually as cheap (or cheaper) as in the stores and I
don't have to worry about rebates or sales taxes.

Look at rebates as icing on the cake, never buy something based on a
rebate. If you get it, great, if not, well you know what company to
not deal with in the future.

Words of wisdom to live by! That's why lot's of folks shop
computer parts on Newegg instead of Tigerdirect.

Check out ripoffreport.com if you are having trouble with
any particular retailer or company that is not honoring
rebate coupons. In advance, follow the rebate instructions
to the letter! Keep copies, use proof of delivery comfirmation
with the PO, etc. It took some time, but the state of Florida
AG finally started to take action against TigerDirect for the
rebate offer problems.

Default Screwed by D-Link Rebate Offer

Our company recently got screwed on a small rebate offer from D-Link. It was just a $10 rebate but we had documented the entire thing since we've been screwed close to 50% of the time on mail-in rebates.

The $10 rebate did not convince us to buy the item but not receiving the rebate convinced management to put D-Link on the company's NO-BUY LIST as an untrustworthy vendor. Accordingly, none of our offices worldwide are allowed to buy D-Link anymore.

In short, cheating on a small rebate doesn't a hurt our company or the next a lot. But it does hurt the cheating company that loses good will and future sales. We'll likely never deal with D-LINK again as nothing that goes on the NO-BUY LIST has ever come off.
