This is just a guess, but I'd bet the best chili would be over at
Nonny's house.

Ask an open question like that to this group and you're bound to get
two answers:
1) Larry's Villa
2) Blue Moon

The chili at the Golden Gate's Bay City Diner is great!

Many thanks, Kurt, but I've had better chili than my own.
Unfortunately, my Mom is not with us anymore.

I hope none of the various places mentioned in this thread have beans
in their chili.

This Texas boy has learned to eat chili with beams. My wife (from
Illinois) make Chili with beans and without the beans it would be tomato
soup with ground beef. Has taken an adjustment (and my poor
grandmother is probably spinning in her grave).

Hey Tom,
We finally got a Sonic Burger in town. Unfortunately, like all rest of
the fast food places, they aren't as good as they used to be. Anyway,
I noticed they have something (I can't remember what they called it)
that was a tortilla, filled with Fritos, chili, cheese and onions.
Kind of like the old Frito Pie, Or Chili Pack, or whatever they called
it back then.

Best Chili I ever ate was at Shanghai Jimmy's in Downtown Dallas.
Spicy Chili poured over steamed rice.
