One problem with the monorail is that it is not conveniently located,
especially for accessing properties on the other side of the strip.

Seems to me that a Golden Opportunity was missed transport-wise.

What they COULD and probably SHOULD have done is build a subway under
the strip.

It would be air conditioned in the summer, which would certainly be a
plus for the rabble.

I wonder why an underground transport network wasn't opted for?

Read somewhere a while back that it seemed like moving packages underground
and people above ground was a better idea...people want to SEE things as the
move from place to place, while packages don't really appreciate the
scenery.

I think Tex A&M was developing (considering developing maybe) some sort of
underground delivery system (not necessarily at A&M).

keep doing stuff to dem bones

The elevated monorail idea is ok... but they should have built it down the
middle of the strip with stations linked to the pedestrian bridges.

It would cost too much. No city can afford to build a subway system
nowadays. Even the existing monorail, which costs a fraction of a
subway system, is financially doomed.

When I read the title of this thred I thought it was about the Subway
food chain. Why woud anyone in their right mind eat at Subway when
good healthy food at BK is available? Ronald Emerson.
