Default How many hotel cancellations/rebookings is too many?

I made a reservation for this June/July at the Golden Nugget a few
months ago, when the rate was $79/night. In April, the rate dropped
to 69, so I cancelled the reservation and made a new one at the new
rate. Now, it appears that the rate might drop down to 59.

Is there a point when you can have one too many cancellations and
cheaper rebookings?

I just did this with my latest Imperial Palace reservation after I
noticed that they dropped the rate on Sunday night $30 below where I
made the reservation. They were nice enough to just switch it over to
the latest rate and save me $30 without having to make a brand new
reservation.

I don't see why there would be any limit on rebookings. As long as
you've been astute enough to catch a better rate, there's no reason
not to change your reservation.

From what point of view? The hotel? Yesterday when I called Treasure
Island to redo my booking the woman told me to call back as many times as I
wanted and they would happily adjust my reservation if the rates fell. They
don't want me going someplace else! From the consumer's point of view? Only
if you're like me and have trouble remembering what you're doing one minute
to the next and forget to cancel a reservation! That hasn't happened to me
yet but if I don't pay attention it could. :-)

I meant from the hotel's point of view (would somebody start looking
at me funny since I had a reservation and decided to change it just to
keep $50 out of the hotel's pockets - twice).

Well, the price did drop, and I did call - and they lowered my rate,
no questions asked.
