Default Sundays Activities

Started Sunday afternoon at the Sahara after having
my wife check our coupons in the glove box. We have
two envelops one marked food and the other
matchplays. Also have a number of ACG's & POV's
in the apartment.

We had six matchplays for the Sahara, but ended
up only using two and winning $30. My wife just
loves the Duces Wild poker machines. On the
way we passed by the new blackjack machine
with the talking dealers, there was one player so we
decided to try it again after getting our whistle cleaned
the last time. After a few $3 hands ($3 Minimum) we
cashed out a $9 winner. My wife finally got to play
her nickle duces wild and cashed out up $5 after a
royal with one duce.

We left after an hour at the Sahara and had time
to kill before going to the Palms with a 2 fer & a
$10 matchplay.

We stopped by the gift shop at Sahara & Las Vegas
Blvd. That place never changes same old stuff but
I didn't see any dildo telephones this time.

We still had some more time to kill, with seven
Vegas vacations and living here almost four years,
I've never been in the Wild Wild West. Driving by
the place hundreds of times it still looked like a
dump after hundreds of times.

The casino is small and very quiet as there were
not many players, the casino is not run down.
My wife & I bought in for $40 at the $3 blackjack
table (continous shuffler) and lost 7 out of 8 hands.
We then moved to the two deck, hand shuffled,
$5 minimum table. There were two other players,
playing two hands each $10 to $50 a hand. They
were making many $5 bets for the dealer, the
dealer had more red chips tokes than were in his tray.
When he did color up, it was about $300. I raised my
eyebrows on two different plays, when they had
a bet out for the dealer and the dealer showed an
ace, the dealer said insure my bet, the player
insured all the bets and the dealer flipped over a
blackjack. Also one of the players cell phone rang
so the dealer flipped over the players cards and
played the hand for him. We enjoyed playing at the
table and ended up losing $25 total.

The motel is a two story courtyard and looked
pleasant. If you are a low roller this maybe a
place to stay in a pinch if you had a car or
wanted to play blackjack 12 hours a day.
You could stay here and write a trip report
for Wynn's. The place looks better than what
you view from the street.

We were now off to the Palms. They have mass
mailings to locals, with a small book that resembles
a POV. A friend had received it in the mail. About
two years ago, they had a mailing to our complex
and I was able to get seven books out of the trash
can next to the complexs mailboxs.

We had been to the Palms many times before on
2 fers. They just can't get their act completely
together, they are never running on all eight cylinders.
Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's poor. The
hot foods were cold. This is the first time I noticed
that they had smoked babyback pork ribs. They
were good and I went back for a second helping.
They weren't too bad, they were fall off the bone,
not rip off the bone with your teeth like in many
places. I do not recommend their buffet unless
you have a 2 fer, For two of us the bill was $18.31.

Again my wife played the nickle duces wild,
with two 5oak's she cashed out ahead $5. We
next played the $10 matchplay, which we won,
so we ended up winning $25 which offset the
$25 loss at Wild Wild West.

So we ended up $44 for the day.

I know the guy that bought out their stock. Don't want to name names,
but let's just say that Snoopy has been takin' it up the old wazoo lately.
