The Furnace Creek Inn run by the National Park Service is very nice. I
have visited many places in my 60 years, and it is one of the best,
and most unique places on Earth. There is a spring that feeds the
swimming pool, and a breathtaking Oasis also. They have a Sunday
brunch for about $25 that is very good. I visited it with some flying
buddies last March and it was great. They shut down in late April
until October as it gets too hot in the summer, but you will love it
in Nov. The ranch is also nice. There is even a golf course. Since it
is 200 feet below sea level, everyone shoots a sub par round they like
to say. ;) A very good choice for a side trip.

Regards,
Bud

If you can't get in at Furnace Creek, there is a more rustic motel
setting over at Stovepipe Wells in DV. Other than that, there are
motels in Baker CA and Beatty NV, which bill themselves as gateways to
DVNP. There is the Longstreet Inn & Casino in Amargosa Valley, NV
which is 10 miles from DV Junction. You could also stay in Parumph NV.
There are also motels over on US-395 in the area of Big Pine,
Independence, Lone Pine and Bishop CA, but in the winter, these may be
filled up with winter sports enthusiasts in the Sierras.

Well from what I can remember there's the ranch or the Inn, maybe a
mile apart. The ranch is more like a motel with a store and a
restaurant in the complex. I think we paid something like $125/night.
The Inn is more upmarket and around $300. If you like fine dining it
isn't a bad place to go. We preferred the more casual ranch. One thing
to note is the stars at night. Because you are out in the desert with
no city lighting the stars just jump out at you.
Book early as they cater to many tourists from Europe.
My favorite view spot is Zambriskie point. Also the extinct volcano
(can't remember the name). Be careful about climbing down into it as
it's tough to get out of as the rocks just slide away from under your
feet.
T-Bone
enjoy, we did.
