David, I saw the calamari on the menu and almost ordered it instead of
the lobster roll. How is it? Have you had the lobster roll lately, and
what is your opinion. Have you had their crab cakes or crab cake roll up?

Personally, I would have a lot more latitude in deciding what was
acceptable and not acceptable if the food was comped. <Grin>
Unfortunately, we're paying customers and I definitely feel we got
unacceptable food at an inflated price.

To each their own. LV is a great place to eat, and if you get advice
from the folks who live here or visit regularly, there are some darned
good bargains. Eating out, to me, is a bit like drinking wine. About
anybody can buy an expensive bottle of wine and get a good product. . .
but at a price. The fun in drinking wine, IMHO, is finding the
great-but-unknown wines at bargain prices.

Sure, we could follow the visitor "trail" and go to the great places on
the Strip or nearby to enjoy the $40 steaks, $10 accompanyments and $25
desserts, but we're a little bit older and just aren't into that much,
anymore. To us, a good luncheon at a VP joint, Lucille's, Cheesecake
Factory etc. is just as much fun. The only time I get put off is when
we go to a place like Tide's at GVR and come away with the feeling we
got substandard food at inflated prices. I was irritated when I wrote
my review of the place and have to take back what I said about some of
the other places at GVR. We're just not the Hank's type, but the sushi
place is fine for a birthday-type dinner with the kids and the OPH can't
be beat for breakfast. I do wish GVR had added some of my favorite fast
foods to their food court, though.

Gosh, how I miss the old Tee Shots. <grin>
