To each their own. LV is a great place to eat, and if you get advice
from the folks who live here or visit regularly, there are some darned
good bargains. Eating out, to me, is a bit like drinking wine. About
anybody can buy an expensive bottle of wine and get a good product. . .
but at a price. The fun in drinking wine, IMHO, is finding the
great-but-unknown wines at bargain prices.
Sure, we could follow the visitor "trail" and go to the great places on
the Strip or nearby to enjoy the $40 steaks, $10 accompanyments and $25
desserts, but we're a little bit older and just aren't into that much,
anymore. To us, a good luncheon at a VP joint, Lucille's, Cheesecake
Factory etc. is just as much fun. The only time I get put off is when
we go to a place like Tide's at GVR and come away with the feeling we
got substandard food at inflated prices. I was irritated when I wrote
my review of the place and have to take back what I said about some of
the other places at GVR. We're just not the Hank's type, but the sushi
place is fine for a birthday-type dinner with the kids and the OPH can't
be beat for breakfast. I do wish GVR had added some of my favorite fast
foods to their food court, though.
Gosh, how I miss the old Tee Shots. <grin>
