Default How is the BILL'S GAMBLIN HOTEL?

Hi. Whenever I go to a new place, I always check the tripadvisor.com
site because of it's real visitors reviews. I have seen that the
Bill's Gamblin hotel, while not being on the expensive side, has got
excellent reviews. The say it's a little hotel in which you won't have
to wait for long lines, you can park your car directly and that the
staff is really friendly. This hotel was formerly known as the Barbary
Coast hotel which also got great reviews. I want to stay at the Strip,
but it is not the first time I have booked an hotel based solely on
it's rave tripadvisor.com and find out that the hotel wasn't that
great (like the Hotel Metro in NYC).

I am planning to go to Las Vegas on august 1 to 6. The price of the
Bill's Gambling for the 5 nights was just US$600,oo. I will pay up to
US$700,oo if the hotel was more nicer than the Bill's.

1) Have you stayed at Bill's? Does it deserves such a great rating?

2) What about the Flamingo Hotel? Is it true that because it is a big
hotel (bigger than Bill's) its always crowed and is a pain to park,
etc?

3) Any other choices you would consider on the Strip?

Thanks!

It's one of the few hotels I've returned to again and again. For the
right price, it's one of the best deals you can get. What others
haven't already mentioned is the parking garage which is really
practical to use. Also, they got a great funbook for new slot club
members, including coupons to other Harrah's properties. With luck,
you might score a fountain view room at ta fraction of the cost for
one of the bigger hotels in the area.

That's a hallmark of Michael Gaughan's joints. They are very sensitive
to advantage blackjack players. I'm guessing that is no longer an issue
with Harrah's ownership. They simply make the game unplayable.

If you don't like long walks to get from your room to MidStrip,
it is a PRIME location. Basically down the elevator, and walk
out the door to Flamingo Ave. Or, through the very small
casino to Vegas Bvld.
We stayed there for seven days last May to attend my niece's
wedding. My wife loved the place and location; since she
has arthritis and walking miles through casinos to get to a
"tower" isn't pleasant for her. That was back when it
was the BC, and when you could get some good deals. We'd go back,
but I'd also consider the Orleans depending on price.
