Default Harrah's vs. Planet Hollywood

Howdy ~~

Some friends and I are going to Las Vegas in mid-August; we've
reserved rooms at Harrah's under what I'd consider a pretty decent
rate of $55 weeknights and $119 weekends.

However, I just recently learned of a deal at Planet Hollywood where
the weekend price is the same as Harrah's, and the weeknight price is
$59 instead of $55.

Given that both hotels cost roughly the same, can anyone offer
opinions as to whether either hotel is significantly better than the
other? Although my friends and I have been to LV several times in the
past few years (special shout-out to Mr. Berman, who provided me with
some excellent information on the Tuscany several years back), we've
never stayed at either place.

While you can get decent information on both hotels from any number of
sites, finding information that provides a comparison between the two
is somewhat harder to find. It *looks* as though Planet Hollywood is
a bit better than Harrah's, although I'm wondering whether the
difference is significant enough to merit changing hotels.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks much,

Mike

Other than the limo not being there at the airport, we have had very few
problems with Harrahs. The dealers and bartenders remember our names and
G really likes to be close to all the shopping in the area. Tom in

Harrahs has better customer service and comps than PH. But the PH
casino is brand new, and the rooms are nicer. Harrahs is a little old
for my taste. Also, the pool at PH is nicer. The miracle mile mall at
PH is also very cool.
