Any long time locals (LV) have any opinions on the following medical
plans?

Thanks, Ron (ront2@cox.net)

I don't live in Nevada, but I work as a customer service rep for
Aetna. Do you know what kind of Open Access plan it is? I handle the
HMO plans. Basically, the Open Access HMO plan allows you to go
directly to any participating physician without a referral. The Open
Access POS plan works like the Open Access HMO for in-network
services, but you also have the option to go out-of-network to non-
participating doctors, but then you'd have a deductible to meet.

I don't know exactly what you're being offered, but I hope this info
was helpful.

The answer is somewhat dependent upon your individual situation. Your
age, health history and status and the type of insurance you are
looking for (individual, family, HMO, PPO) will all contribute to
determining what is "best" for your situation.

If you are old enough for medicare, there are web sites available that
offer some comparitive data between the various plans available in
Nevada.
