I'd be into it if the Monorail was built from the Airport to Downtown as
they were originally planning, and the fare was still $5. I travel
light, and use a backpack for my clothes.

| | Guest | monoFail plans Considering the long walks from the monorail station to the front desk
and escaltors to deal with I don't see it as a useful option. Then
again I don't see as the best way to get around in Vegas. As we go as
a couple it's not much more to ride in a taxi and they take you to the
front door.

you're in a tiny minority from my extensive McCarren experience.
I'm with Tom in CT on this one --- I'd easily spend 20* the amount to
not have to schlep my stuff around on the monorail.
And they'll be hella salesmen if they get the money it takes to expand
--- that's for sure.

How do you pack your tuxedo in a back pack. The tux you use to gamble in?

| | Guest | monoFail plans I would love to travel with a small backpack but, the person with me
changes about three times a day and needs more room for all the stuff
she will be buying at the Forum Shops. Tom in Ct

I would use it. Unlike some people, I know how to pack. I travel with a
small backpack for my laptop and a few other essentials and a small
suitcase on wheels, so "lugging" luggage on the monorail would be no
problem for me. | |

I don't think it would be any more difficult than the El from O'hare
or Midway, or the Airtrain and NJT/PATH from Newark. Easier,
actually ... | |

have you been on the Vegas monorail? You don't think the size
differences between the cars in ChiTown and Vegas would make any
difference?

I see people in Chicago and Atlanta take luggage on the train all the
time. I actually see the monorail (as configured) better for luggage
than the trains.....that being said, I probably would continue to take
cabs rather than wait through all of the stops of the monorail to get to
my hotel. | |

Actually, yes, several times. ...

I don't know. My guess is that the Las Vegas cars are about as wide as
Chicago cars, but maybe half as long. Yes, I can envision riding the
Monorail with a modest-size roll-about bag. Now those gargantuan
steamer trunks with wheels that some people fly with might be a
problem, I admit. | |
