| | Guest | 7 day Vacation: Vegas or an All Inclusive Resort ? We're wondering which is a better option to choose. We are looking for a
"resort" style vacation in September or early October where we can get
ample and sun and pool.
In the past, we've typically done the Mexico AI thing but we're not
drinking as much as we used to. We were in Vegas last month for 4 nights
and we couldnt get enough of the place. We got the $59/night special at
the Aladdin and typically ate at the buffets and used coupons. We also
checked out the Orleans and for the price the food was ok.
We don't wish to break the bank and would like to do some sightseeing
which we didnt do last time.
When would be the best time to look for hotel specials for the fall? I
was thinking as a last resort, to stay at the Orleans since they often
have $48/night specials but I don't know how their pool area is. The
Monte Carlo didn't have a very good pool layout since the sun was often
blocked by the building early in the day. I think we shouldnt stay
there.
If we do do the AI thing, we have thought about doing Cuba because of
the cost.
Any suggestions? | |

| | Guest | 7 day Vacation: Vegas or an All Inclusive Resort ? Seven days is more than I'd want to spend in Vegas. Three nights (Tues-Fri)
is just right. | |

Cuba? How is that cheaper? You'd have to go there illegally from Canada
or somewhere. And Ive seen on travel channel Cuban hotels and
restaurants have gotten really pricey since more Europeans are going
there. | |

The weather in Las Vegas may not be suitable for lounging by a pool.

Hold off until August and you should see some deals.

Being from Canada, that wouldn't be a problem. A package for 7 nights
at an AI 3* in Varadero (popular hangout for Europeans and Canadians) is
~$783 US including air. That's just a little over $100 day including
all the food and (alcholic) your stomach and liver can absorb. With
this kind of a price, Florida isn't even an option. Airfare alone is
over $300 per person + hotel and accomodations from Western Canada.
You see, that's why we are wondering. However, the above package is in
June only. Something around $100/day per person including food, drink,
and air is our budget.
I thought Vegas would be cheaper in the fall, how come it's not?

Really? I checked Weatherunderground and for September, the highs have
been around 33C or around 90F. It did start to dip around late October
though.

Thanks, will do. | |
