| | Guest | Manadalay Bay Questions Coming back to LV and wondering whether to return to the Mandalay Bay but I
have a couple of reservations even though for the most part I love the
place.
Firstly when we were there the elevators were a BIG problem the waits were
terrible. I couldn't believe how they could get this so wrong. I seem to
remember that the banks were not split up to serve different floors (as at
TI and other places) so getting a ride was difficult. I don't really see
how this could be improved but can anyone let me know if things have got
better?
Secondly when we were last ther they were buidling 'THE HOTEL' and the pool
(though spectacular) was very crowded. Does THE HOTEL have its own pool or
do the guests share Manadalay's pool? If so the crush must be bad. Any
comments?
Thanks

| | Guest | Manadalay Bay Questions I don't recall about the elevators, but the pool situation has gotten
worse. No, TheHotel doesn't have it's own pool. All those people are
also coming over to use the already crowded Mandalay pool.

| | Guest | Manadalay Bay Questions THEhotel does not have it's own pool. If you have no kids in your
group, go to Moorea Beach pool, the adult pool at Mandalay Bay. Well
worth the extra admission charge. Service is great.

| | Guest | Manadalay Bay Questions Just curious...Is the Moorea Beach pool clothing optional or just toples for
women?

some nudity, but have no personal knowledge of that.

| | Guest | Manadalay Bay Questions There haven't been very many positive reviews of THEHotel:
: There are virtually no waits for the elevator at THEHotel, and it's much
: nicer there than over at Mandalay Bay for not that much more money. Consider
: treating yourself next time to a stay at THEHotel. As for the pool, everyone
: is correct that the pools are for all, but you can certainly pick you time
: when to go, doing obvious things like avoiding school vacation weeks. We've
: stayed at THEHotel three times now and would only consider staying at
: Caesar's if we had to stay elsewhere on the strip. We love the easy in and
: out garage at THEHotel and we've always been treated royally there (we're
: not high rollers, in fact, don't much care for the casino there). Hope this
: helps, as always, it's just another person's opinion and we're not connected
: in any way to Mandalay Bay (other than wishing we were there).

Mandalay has two different elevator banks, I believe. But the wait
times have always been kind of long. Not the worst I've seen, though.
I don't really see how this could be improved but can anyone let me
know if things have got better?
I'd say things have gotten worse. My stay last December the place
seemed a lot more worn, it was nice four years prior but not that much
better than the Luxor today. Unless you're staying in The Hotel, anyway.

That's because of expectations. THEhotel is not meant to replace the
Four Seasons on the roof of the main tower, but a lot of people expect
something like that a lower price. People who go in expecting the place
to be a "Four Seasons Express" if you will, are going to be
disappointed. | |
