Just an additional caveat. (I think Tom meant ticket *counter* -- not
ticket gate.)

The time it takes to get through security and to your gate is pretty much
equal for all airlines. But, the reason Tom gave the suggestion above is
this: because of the luggage checker- in-ers. So....

If at all possible, when flying Southwest, do NOT check any luggage.

We did not check any luggage, but still had to wait in the line to
check in at the ticket counter because we did not have e-tickets.
Anyone without e-tickets will have to wait either at the luggage check
in outside or at the ticket counter inside.
