Default Best deal for luxury suits...

I'm going to be visting Las Vegas in mid January 2005 and am
interesting in splurging on a nice penthouse suit of some kind.

So far the best that I've seen appears to be the $800 a night
penthouse suits at the Bellagio. After a bit of searching I see that a
lot of people have stayed in these suits for as little as $400 a
night.

So my questions are how do they manage to get these deals, where do I
get them, and is the Bellagio the best bang for your buck on the
luxury end of the spectrum.

Thanks.

Ask. Interest in higher end rooms can be spotty. Forget it if they are
truly busy, but they may make a deal during slower periods. Say "My budget
is $400 per night, what can you do for me?" Call other similar hotels
too--gives you perspective and increases the chances of getting a deal.

It depends entirely on the manager, but many would rather sell the room
cheap than have it go empty for $0 profit.

Never before has so much been owed by so many to so few.

I think the best deal on a suit is a Hickey-Freeman at Nordstroms. You get
full-canvas construction for a price hundreds less than other designers
charge for their low-end fused suits. Go to a trunk show and they'll knock
enough off the price of a made-to-measure suit that it costs barely more
than their off-the-rack suits (no trunk show this year at the Las Vegas
Nordstroms though).

Or did you mean "suite"?

I've stayed in the Bellagio suite, one step down from the penthouse
suite and paid $400 in April. They wanted $100 a night more for lake
view so we got a pool view, not bad. I've signed Bellagio's guestbook
so get offers sometime. Summer months are slow and they offered the
penthouse for $595. You never mentioned weekend or weekday as the
rates jump up Fri and Sat. Mine were weekday rates.
December is traditionally slow so rates plummet. The only problem is
many shows take their haitus then.

Aladdin has a suite called an "End Cap Suite" that is fantastic, and probably
cheaper than the more visited hotel/casinos. Check it out.
