Yup. There's a crossover. I have walked from the Strip to
the Rio two or three times. No problem.

I disagree. At night it is a dangerous and unnecessary walk. Either take
the Harrahs shuttle to the Rio or the Barbary Coast Shuttle to the Gold
Coast.

Very possible. The weather is the determining factor on how fun or
how miserable it will be. I did it about 11 years ago with my best
friend, during the summer, at midnight with a very pleasant 78 degree
breeze blowing while we were looking for a strip club and trying to
save on cab fare. Those were the days.

I have done the walk at night. Its great excercise. When I walked from
the Rio to the Strip, there was also a lot of other people out walking.
This was around 10:00pm. No problem at all.

My wife I walked there once, after seeing the Rio was "right behind"
Caesars. The only tricky part of the walk was when we had to cross the
street right at the I-5 on-ramp. But there is a fenced walkway over the
interstate.

And yes, we DID take a cab back.... :)

I don't know. How good are you at running across a freeway?

Don't think there's a sidewalk on Flamingo. Never thought to look.

Default walk to rio? Thnx all!

Hate to prolong this further, but...

I do a lot of walking in Vegas and I wouldn't walk to the Rio along
Flamingo. It's not just that it is a long walk, it's that it's an
unpleasant walk. You're along a very busy road for the first part,
then you deal with annoying traffic lights for the second, then you
walk in this caged in walkway for the third.

If you do want to walk to the Rio, may I suggest you start out on
Insustrial Rd (you can hook up behind The TI <ugh>) and walk that way.
