Probably true. However, if you prefer the Mirage end of the strip,
you can factor in all the cab rides you won't be taking. And do not
underestimate the value of time and aching feet. It takes forever
just to walk through the casino at MGM, let alone how long it takes
you to walk from your room to the elevator on top of that.
The Mirage is very reasonably sized, and easy walking access to some
of the nicer properties. Unless you're talking $50 more per night, I
can't imagine you wouldn't find the Mirage a better choice if you're
looking to settle in, enjoy the pool, and roam.
Do sign up for the slot club either way -- even if you don't gamble
much you will receive offers for less expensive stays in the future.
