If you want to impress relatives from Taiwan, take them to Smith &
Wollensky, Mortons, Del Frisco's, Ruths Chris, or any other of the beef
palaces in Las Vegas. Every Asian friend or colleague I have taken out is
much more impressed by them than they are by American Asian food.

I agree with Scotty... I would recommend the Golden Steer for an old time "Mobbed up Vegas" experience.

Or, how about Thai food, the reviews on Lotus of Siam have been uniformly high...

Hi Danny. My wife is Asian, and we recently dined at Jasmine. The decor is
lovely, the service attentive, and the prices not outrageous. Unfortunately,
the food is not exceptional....

DH is Chinese (parents from Taiwan) and I'm Thai. We ate at Jasmine
on Wednesday last week. Oddly the Crispy Chicken Salad had
horseradish (which we dislike) but the rest of the food was
reasonable. The XO string beans was the dish that stood out
flavor-wise. We also had chao mian (slivered pork and bell pepper)
which was OK and general tso's chicken, pretty good.

The desserts at the Bellagio, however are OUTSTANDING due to the MOF
pastry chef. We had the mango creme brulee and cocoa bean dessert..
the creme brulee came with a flower-shaped tuile cookie with poppy
seeds and coconut ice cream with bits of coconut. The cocoa bean was
a soft, dense chocolate cake with capuccino sorbet... delicious.

Default restaurant dress codes

We'll be in Vegas for our 25th over the Valentine's Day weekend. I'm trying
to decide on a special restaurant. I'm looking at the Eiffel Tower at the
Paris but trying to avoid jacket and tie restaurants. Does this restaurant
have a strict dress code? I'm also open to other ideas and opinions. Thanks,
Roger

Picasso at Bellagio is a coat-and-tie place. But apparently, if you show up
with a couple of scantily clad ladies they'll allow you and your buddy to
wear tight black t-shirts and blue jeans. That's what they looked like at
the table next to me back in February. The rest of us looked like we
belonged there.

Sorry, not sure about the Eiffel Tower. I'd call just in case.

Probably not a dress code in effect but since it says nothing on the website
it wouldn't hurt to give a call to find out!
