As far as I know, any casino will keep the free drinks flowing for
anyone who gambles. This is because the more their players drink, the
more money they may gamble and lose. Free drinks are a cheap investment,
especially since the casinos do not use top drawer brands of liquor.

Best is a relative term. Remember, casinos are in business to make a
profit, and they do not give out comps because they want to be your
friend. Many of the big Strip casinos require you play $20 for each
comp point and you might need 5 points on your comp card to get a
free buffet. That's $100 of gambling (not necessarily your money) to
get a $20 buffet. Guess who makes out on that deal?

For a first visit, you can't go wrong with the Luxor. The MGM Grand is
nice too. The Excalibur is passable, but its on the level of a Holiday
Inn; pretty sparton, but clean and comfortable. For a September stay,
the MGM Grand might be worthwhile if you like to swim. The Luxor has a
nice pool area, but the MGM Grand's pool area makes the Luxor's look
positively anemic in comparison.
