 Hello from Jinan, China
I travel a lot and tonight I am in a hotel in Jinan. I am wet, had a miserable trip today, and I am spending the night in Jinan only because I decided to travel again some other day...like tomorrow.
I will guess that this year I have spent more than 6 out of 8 months in hotels, including New York, San Diego, Chicago, and places in Florida, Tennessee, Delaware, New Jersey, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico...etc.
I have spent one week in Taiwan this year. I think I have spent about 3 months in China so far, and I have a few weeks to go.
In 2005 I was in China for about 4 months. In 2005, the total was probably 6 months. In 2004, I was in China about 8 months and the same in 2003.
Last week I was in Shenyang. And over the weekend I rested in an efficiency apartment in Beijing...for $60 per night I had my own kitchen and washing machine.
Today, I left ShiJiaZhuang with the goal of being in Boshan tomorrow. I figured I would spend the night in Zibo-JiangDian and go on from there. But the trip fell apart when the weather turned sour and I wound up on a bus which was a local...promising to turn a two hour trip into a four hour ordeal.
I decided a hotel might be called for. I will travel again another day...like tomorrow. |
