| Hi, from Rik Hi, from Rik. I've just set up this NEW forum for first-time users to just drop in and introduce themselves. Feel free to tell everyone about your travel interests, where you live (either just your country or city, state, province, etc.). Don't be shy. We won't bite. Also feel free to reply to any message (no matter how old) to make further information that people can use. Just for your information, I'm located in the middle of the USA -- St. Louis, Missouri. I've also lived in Hawaii and Japan and traveled to all continents except Africa. I enjoy traveling anywhere, trying new foods, and simply exploring back roads. Even though I'm a native of St. Louis, I'm going back to visit many of the places in St. Louis that I have seen in years and discovering more. You'll find some of my St. Louis pictures in the PHOTOS area of TRAVEL.com with more to come. I've also left recent restaurant reviews online in the FORUMS area here at TRAVEL.com. In the near future, we intend to put online a separate, advanced way for everyone to easily review restaurants, hotels, cruises, and more. So stay tuned. We hope you will participate! Cheers! -- Rik

| | Guest | maybe you can help Rik,
I'm new to this site and have only done limited time with online forums such as this. I posted a question regarding a cross country drive earlier today as a new thread and can't seem to find it anywhere. Am I doing something wrong? Does it take a while to post? I really want some input on a cross country driving trip... Thanks for any info.

We do approve messages several times a day. Once one has been on the system a while and has a proven track record, they can message without any pre-approval. I hope you enjoy your trip. I'll try to give some of my suggestions for the midwest. Regards. -- Rik |

| | Guest | Is my name ok? Hello Rick, i am a new member to the forum. I just finished reading one of your stickies on forum rules there seems to be a chance that my name breaks on such rules. Please advise.
Another question:I have tons of pics of Jamaica but it seems as if posting pics on this site means giving them away, as no mention of photo credits is made, is this assumption correct?
Is it a case where all images with text on them are refused? As naturally i would want to add the url of my website to them. Without this, it seems as if there is little incentive to post pictures here.

I've uploaded hundreds of my own. Professional photographers have their own websites to promote their photography. Here, we are a photo sharing system (Just amateur snapshot stuff) -- not a place for advertising one's website. So images with text of any kind are not acceptable.
Regards. -- Rik
ps: I'll keep your current username active for a few days but will have to delete it soon. But you can still read this public message under any name. |

We currently are not taking new submissions. If you check back in a month or two, we expect to have a new system online that will allow for submissions.
Thanks and regards. -- Rik |
