Default GPS Receiver

I am shopping for a GPS Receiver and have narrowed my choices to (1)
Magellan eXplorist 210 and (2) Garmin eTrex Vista. Which is the better
choice?

They usually update through the serial port on the hotsync connector.
If you use them for trails and not roads then think about Fugawi, Oziexplorer software etc. With these you can make your own topo updates from the freely available maps at places like topozone.com.
You really don't even need electronic maps for hiking just paper topos with utm and the gps.
