Default Picardin insect repellent

I know it's a bit early, but I'm thinking of my trips this summer
or just Spring in local areas with skeeters. I've invested in lots
of synthetic clothing, and I'd rather not have DEET eat away
at them. I'm also rather allergic to DEET, unless I've taken
my antihistamines first.

Anyone tried Cutter Advanced or maybe some product outside
the US that contains picardin?

Sorry - it's picaridin.

YES, and the stuff works.
I took a bottle to Canada in early July and it was a joy to be free of DEET
after 40 years of summer use.

Have you tried the clothing treatment spray stuff? Usually contains
PERMETHRIN and claims to protect for 6 weeks or a dozen washings or
something like that. I tried some last summer and it was much better
than nothing, but not perfect. Might be worth looking into.

I'm not sure that's **quite** correct. Pyrethrins are supposed to be
naturally derived from some varieties of African chrysanthemum.

Permethrin is a synthetic version of pyrethrin. Sounds like the
difference between dextrose (synthetic) and glucose (natural).
