Default Backpacking food

Hi all,

Has anyone tried Backpackers Pantry food? Does anyone have an opinion
on it? Someone here must have an opinion. ;-)

TiA,

KM

Yes, and they all (OK, the few that I've tried) taste the same - might
be the TVP or preservatives or something else. We just started
dehydrating our own meals - much better taste, and you know exactly
what's going in to them. We did some spaghetti - just make it up, mix
sauce with whole wheat noodles, and dry the whole mess. Rehydrate in a
sealed container for the last couple hours of your hike, and then just
heat it over your stove. Far better than the pre-made bags! In my
opinion, it's like comparing TV-dinners to real dinners. We're not
going back.
Andy

Been using Mountain House for a loooong time now. Used BP for a little
before.

In a word, yuck. Tried 10 or so of their varieties, and did not like a
single one of them. Tasted like they had a rack of dehydrated stuff and
mixed it right in the bag, never cooking it together.

If you'd like suggestions on specific MH meals....

HTH,
Dan
