Default Hiking Sandals...

I have owned Teva's, Birk's, Merrells and none stood up.

You will never get me out of my Chaco's.

People who know use Chaco's.

They are heavier than other sandals for a reason, they are built like
tanks and have great under foot support including the best arch
supports I have ever tried.

For hiking get the Vibram sole Colorado, same sole as my hiking boots
in a sandle gotta love it.

Last year my (10 YEAR OLD!) Chaco's 5.10 rubber sole split across the
bottom I sent them to Chaco they sent me a brand new pair for free.

Try that with TEVA!

Chacos are great, and I love my Z1 Terrenos. But having done Paria
lots of times I'd suggest that you also bring along something that
will give you better foot protection when needed. Much of the route is
on dry land, and littered with rocks, cactus, thorns, and the like.
Even in some of the wet areas, you'll be wading in rough surfaces that
will quickly skin your feet.
