Default Backpack Destination

Hello All,

My husband and I want to do a "starter" backpack trip later this
summer, in California,...any suggestions??? I am an experienced day
hiker, but my husband's experience is limited to an hour here and
there. I was thinking about going to Florence Lake, above Shaver
Lake, to pack around the lake...I here the trail is beginner
friendly???

Make sure you're in good physical condition. Practice by taking long day
hikes with a heavy daypack, or even your backpacks. That's how I started
many years ago. Read up on all the books and literature you can as well.
