They're asking the same question in my coffee group-coffee.

Been posting there since 1996. People come and go, information gets
disseminated to a larger and larger group so the knowledge base gets
bigger. Besides, this is a busy and stressful time for many
people:~). Elfing takes a lot of work..

We'll all be back "evench". The aloha spirit is alive and well and
will return.

aloha,

[SNIP my stuff]

OK, trip is done and it was great. I have to report that the Aloha
Spirit is
alive and very well on O`ahu, not known as an epicenter for that spirit, in
the past.

I should not have contemplated that it might have been lost, but with the
traffic and comments, wondered.

Though from the Mainland, and obviously so, we were welcomed as ohana and
enjoyed every second of the trip.

Whether the NG is going through a phase, or just a decline, is NOT
incidative
of the feelings in Hawai`i.

Why the NG might be in decline is probably myriad, but Hawai`i is still
Hawai`i and I was greatly releaved.

Aloha,
Hunt

Not that we over here doubted it. Oahu is undergoing a
lot of change. And we don't have much cultural ties to
the past. Music and the arts seem to only interest a
few. But the feeling is definitely different from the
mainland.
