Perhaps odors like food might build-up if the air did
not go out the front door. The business wants a fresh
air smell. I can't tell. I don't have a good nose for
odors.

Alternatively, they could "scrub" the recycled air for
odors, but perhaps that's a more expensive mode of
operation.

I see some hotel lobbies doing it, too. It's crazy.
