Default Maili and Waianae Areas

I'm hoping someone can give me some pros and cons of purchasing a home
in Maili/Waianae areas. I've been looking at homes online on Oahu and
realized that many better areas have homes with very little land.

We've driven around Maili/Waianae area several years ago and found it
to be less prosperous than others, however there appears to be some
decent looking homes with .25 to 1 acre range in this area that we
were not aware of. We will be on Oahu in June to scope out more, but
would appreciate any comments. Also, would it be difficult to rent
out a home in the $2-3K range in this area for few years (being too
far, not desirable area, etc)? Thank you.

Within 60 miles? No problem! There's Tamura's grocery store in Waianae,
which is about the least expensive grocery store on the island! I'm not
sure how well their Japanese food shelves are stocked but I'd guess you
could fill in with items from Sack n Save (Foodland) in Nanakuli (10
min. drive) and/or Safeway in Kapolei (20-25 min. drive). And, Honolulu
just isn't all that far away!

Aloha...Sue
