Has anyone out there read this new book at Barnes & Noble (and
Borders), "KeAloha - The Keeper" by Emel Kay? especially anyone on the
Big Island or Maui? it's really cool. it's a submersion into Hawaiian
Mythology, and I wanna know how much of the stuff in the book is real???

"Hawaiian
Mythology, and I wanna know how much of the stuff in the book is real"

....then I suppose you would want to delve into studying the volumnous
material on Hawaiian mythology to learn for yourself, what is real.

"and I wanna know how much of the stuff in the book is real??? "

This question, written by "James", another reviewer of the book in the
other oline press releases, sound very insincere.

Come to think of it, this whole deal seems like an overly hyped and
flowery press release. And as with the other press releases on this
book, where the word submersion is overused, we must ask: "How CAN a
book force us underwater, and WHY would it want to?!"

..=2E..and we find a quizzical description, making this book a little
suspect:
"Emel Kay has literally stuffed a live, screaming movie between the
covers..."
If these people think you can literally stuff a screaming live movie
into a physical book... I don't know what the rest of the writings
would convey, because in the real world, of course, it is impossible
to: "literally stuff a screaming live movie between the covers of a
book".

Further, it tells us:

"Kay delivers an unforgettable, 360=BA twist at the end of her tale"
This doesn't take us anywhere surprising; it just brings us back to
where we started from. What fun is that!?

"=2E..goes far beyond any other publication of Hawaiian mythology, "
Doubt that fully!

"penning secret knowledge and customs which were previously conveyed
only through stories chanted amongst the Hawaiian people."
"she was able to convey secret knowledge that even I, a native
Hawaiian, did not know! "

(So, they are revealing 'secrets".) Then it doesn't sound pono, to me.
This is something NOT to be bragged about.

"This is the ONLY ORIGINAL piece of Hawaiian mythology that I have ever
read,..."
then, THAT reader doesn't get out much at all.

But wait just a minute; what DOES "original piece of Hawaiian
mythology" mean anyway?! This new writer is creating new original
mythology!?
Sheesh! Who will be suckered into that?
