Hawaii Statehood 50th Anniversary

Does anyone know of any current or planned websites dedicated to the
upcomming 50th anniversary of Hawaii's statehood next year?
I am going to be in the islands for two weeks starting the 17th of
August and was wondering what events are planned.

No idea at this time, and speaking of time, Hawaii makes it's 50th
year of being the 50th state in 2009, not 2004. Unless you have
access to one of those time warp do-hickes.

You're jumping the gun a bit, admission date to the union was 21 Aug
1959. I remember it well as it was my senior year in High Sch. But
its good to plan well in advance for things like this

Hawaii became a state in 1959. The 50th anniversary isn't until 2009.

I sort of remember for the State's 25th Anniversary (in 1984) that
the Air Force Thunderbirds did their show off Waikiki. It may have
not been on Admission's Day itself but it was close to it, at least
the newspaper articles at the time said so.

I also remember a fireworks display.
