No, he is an MD. Not only that...MD, JD, MPH.
The diet did not change, the name did. It was originally "The Waianae
Diet." Renaming it "The Hawaii Diet" gave it broader exposure. The
concept (which is more than just a list of allowed foods) was the
same, but starches other than poi were included.

Yeah, that and a really successful CONCEPT. The proceeds from sales of
his books and lecture tours were all DONATED.
it, Alvin...you're an engineer and spend a lot of time on line.
Could you do a bit of research before you start "speculating" about
things that are very easy to verify.
Google, the StarBulletin and Advertiser all have excellent search
functions. | |

Correction, I'm more or less retired now. And it's fun
to speculate.
What's the point of a free style discussion on the
internet if you have to reseach everything that you
write? That's too much work and something that might be
more appropriate to an editorial letter to one of the
dailies. Publishing standards are much lower on
newsgroups. Or higher, when you consider that we watch
our style of writing to conform to moderator
guidelines.

I suppose it's more fun to publicly display one's ignorance and
severely flawed logic by dashing off loopy speculative nonsense than
to bother with anything so tedious and boring as making sure you know
what you're talking about.
You are, to put it mildly, a most unusual engineer.

Or talk radio?
It's not often you get a straightforward endorsement for intellectual
laziness.

Oh, I couldn't help noticing. Lolos-R-Us, free associating 24/7. | |

This is your problem not mine. Most the things I write
about are based on pretty well-reported items in the
papers. And I think I'm pretty much well informed as
anyone else on these subjects. And when I venture into
unknown territory, I pretty much qualify my remarks.
Your imagination seems to think there is some problem
when there is none. Most here don't subscribe to
"researching everything" as you obviously feel you
must.
