I think the biggest plus is the cooler temperatures and
greener scenery. But it's cool till Kalaheo.
Negative is that the beaches are better in the Poipu
area. East side beaches are good but tend to have
strong and dangerous currents.
I think Kauai has always had a problem with it's
economy, but a lot of retirees and the wealthy have
homes there. "More" people do not go to Kauai unless
there are jobs to have. Most of the developments tend
to be "bedroom" communities for those who do have jobs.
