I have been offered the opportunity to acquire a Hawaiian passport. Have
any resident of Hawaii successfully visited Europe (or any other
non-American continent) using such a travel document?
I presume, due to the current events, the European public would welcome a
Hawaiian tourist a lot better than an American one right now. Still, I
wonder how US and European border officials would react to such a
document... any experience?

Of course, if you have any problems abroad you can always contact the
Hawaiian Embassy . . . oh wait, no can't do that . . . Hey, once you leave
the country, good luck getting back in!

Interesting question. Why would anyone want a Hawaiian passport in the
first place, when they are all citizens of the United States?

Ah, the age old question. I suspect that Europeans who do not depend on the
American tourist, or if their livelyhood is not tied to American business,
would be more willing to make the statement you just made, then those who
do. | |

Yes, but not since 1898!

George, where'd you hear about this? Do you have a URL? It'd be
interesting to see if it's intended just as a gag, or if it's from a
genuine Hawaiian sovereignty group. | |

Yikes! Someone's a bit ticked off and decided to get a bit personal
by referencing a previous comment from another thread. Hmm, aloha
'ole! | |
