Syros

I`m off to Syros in June, anyone have some tips they would like to share? We
are staying at Galissas.

Hello Basill,

I was in Syros in 2004, loved it, I stayed in the capital Ermoupolis, I
am not a beach person and love to stay in "town" it is a lovely city an
the town square and building are some of the nicest in Greece very
classical. Hope you enjoy your stay in Galissas. The time of year you
are going is great, I go most every year to Greece and always stay away
from summer, spring and fall are the best.

You will love it there. It has a whole different look and feel and is
not so touristy as many islands. People are more laid back and not so
assertive in their sales approach that you encounter elsewhere. We spent
our time staying mainly in Ermoupolis, a great little town, but drove
the whole island, which is not big.
My favourite island, along with Lesvos.

PS: You can day trip over to Mykinos, which is only two hours away on
the ferry, I recall, and a whole different world!
