Default MacDonalds Skiathos

I heard there is no more MacDonalds in Skiathos. Anyone confirm this?

Not looking to eat there myself - don't like burgers and don't
understand why anyone does (they always smell so rancid). I'm just
interested is they survived on a Greek island. It seemed such a strange
coupling.

Yes, I returned from Skiathos last week. I can confirm that McDoanld's
wasn't there. At least, it was never open, but it has not been taken
over by anything else. The blinds were permanently down, but there is a
McDonalds' sign on the edge of the blinds so you can see where it was.

Hurray!!!

There are plenty of tavernas etc. where you can get great food and
quite a few snack food places of various descriptions including a
creperie which is open 24 hours.

Well, one of the ideas of travelling and exploring other countries and
cultures is to avoid things and routines which you normally get where you
live and work, isn´t it ?

Why should one look for a thing such McDonald´s on a place like Skiathos (or
any other island in Greece) when the country is loaded with such nice
foodculture as it actually is ?

I don´t quiet understand this question because even though I sometimes enjoy
a hamburger and some french fries, I just can´t imagine eating something
like that when getting the opportunity to visit any place in any country
outside where I live ?

But the question is free to ask, and the answer the same.

Cheers

Hans, Sweden (going to Skiathos in July)

There is a Goody's on Paros. When I lived there I would very occasionally
get a craving for fast slop, and there it was, great!

Glad to see Big Mac go belly up. Sounded so weird - like finding a
British pub there - oh sorry, that's Corfu isn't it? What is it with
the British that they feel they have to take their kitchen sinks with
them - even a made-in-the-USA sink?
I recall sitting in a taverna on Rhodes once and a family from South
Wales parked themselves on the next table.
One said to the waiter in that nasal defeating South Wales twang: 'We
just stepped off the plane see? And starvin' we are? So four steak an'
chips and make it snappy will you. Plenty of brown sauce too - if
you've got any in this bloody country that is.'
I felt a deep surge of inner pride at hailing from these fair British
isles.

There's a Goody's on Naxos too. And one on every Blue Star ferry.
