Default Cell phone at Athens Airport

Cell phone at Athens Airport

I've been told recently that you can purchase a cell phone that's ready for
use at the AThens airport for about 60 Euros. You have to buy a card as well
and then charge it up at your hotel as soon as possible.

Has anyone completed this procedure and what luck (good or bad) did you have
with the service.

Input is appreciated...thanks

Yes they do have cell phone stores that can rent out cell phones, but if you
want to save some money, try to get your hands on a phone locally.

Make sure that it is a GSM TRI-BAND or QUAD-BAND and that it is unlocked.

Then all you need is to pick up a SIM card in athens , pop it in, and you're
ready to go.

Good Luck,
DK

If you have the right phone, tri/quad band unlocked, you can buy a sim
card at the airport (Vodaphone greece) for 20 euros which includes 8
euros worth of talk time.

Just look for a store with a Vodafone sign :-)

ask for Vodafone a la carte SIM card. If u cant find one, ask anyone and
they'll give u directions to the closest dealer.
