What to do in a week?

Hi,

We are headed to Crete for one week at the end of summer when the
islands will be packed. Any recommendations on what we absolutely
should see, crowds or not? Great restaurants? Great beaches?

Last year we chose Crete for our first trip abroad!

We went to a place called Plakias, I can recommend it, great views, nice
and quiet - no salesman to hassle you (Well except Christos at the
Alianthos Beach Hotel) - great beach. Perfect for a chill out day or
two. You can get a bus from Rethymnon.

Try it-but don't tell every one or next time I go it could be full of
people.
