Default What do you eat when you are in Greece?

I found Greek food to be so wonderful during my trip last year that I can't
imagine eating a non-Greek meal there. There are lots of great Italian
restaurants in the US but I still haven't found a really good authentic Greek
one anywhere. Even the ones owned by Greeks don't serve authentic Greek salads,
for instance.

I ate tons of Greek salads and tzatziki on my trip. For meals themselves I
liked just about everything that was grilled, such as souvlaki. I was also
happy to discover mousaka. I never had a bad meal during my entire two weeks
there, so I guess the answer to your question is that I like it all (though
I'll admit I never worked up the courage to try the grilled octopus tentacles
we saw on Naxos and Aigina).

...
... You mean kapari?I dont know the english term either,it is tasty and
... common in Greek salads, but again you have to be in a non touristic
... taverna. :-)

Capers.

Nothing to do with capers, but with your chat about food now I'm dying for a bit of
kokoretsi... :-)

According to google, it's gilthead bream. If that's the same thing as sea
bream, it's quite commonly found in fishmongers here in England, so I expect
you can get it in Holland too.

I have had a dig around on the web and realised there are two in Cheltenham.
The one I went to was Dionysos (8 Suffolk Parade). The other one (Athens
Greek Taverna) looked to be very expensive, so I didn't try it.

Greecemad.
