Does anyone know of a Bulletin Board relating to Corfu that is active? I've
found one, but it only has entries in it for 2000 and 2001.

If not, can anyone tell me how far it is from Pelekas to Mirtiotissa Beach,
how long it takes to walk (in each direction) and whether there is a bus
service that can be used for part of the distance?

Greecemad.

It depends on how keen a walker you are! I have just checked the map and I
guess it is between 2 - 3km.

According to our local ex-pat mag., it has a very steep track leading to it
(not for cars) and of course is Corfu's unofficial nudist beach but you
probably knew that! (However, there are others!)
I would offer a scan of that section of the map but it doesn't really help.
Not sure about buses.

Corfu??? Is this a definite plan then? I hope you're not disappointed
after reading me ranting on about the Ionians for all these years :-)

Yes, this means that I am thinking about breaking the habits of a lifetime
and not going to the Aegean for once. This will be for a week in June, but I
will still be touring the Kyklades later in the year.

I'm going to Corfu for a week on Friday. Can anyone suggest places of
interest to visit - don't know where I'm staying yet as I've got a
cheap AOA deal. Don't really want to do the reps rip off trips but
haven't had time to do research as only booked a couple of days ago.
Also, if there's any vegetarians out there - can you recommend any nice
veggie friendly restaurants? Cheers in advance.

I would get a rent car and drive around the Island. It's not that big, and
in 2 or 3 days you can see most interesting places. Traffic isn't very bad,
so you should be fine driving.

I do remember that they did offer organised day-trips to Albania when I was
there, should be interesting too.

Regards,

Frank

We don't drive, but thanks, we'll use public transport or cabs, more
fun anyway usually!

Drat, wouldn't you know it, just checked the weather forecast for the
next 2 weeks in Corfu, and it looks like it's going to be cloudy/rain
the week we're there and sunny the week after, sigh.
